An Update to the Divine Fish Dial Blender Model – Larger Model Scales🐟

My answer to the WordPress prompt question is:

….at the end⏲️, or maybe a Fish🤔? please read on my friends:

A quick update post on the watch dial I modeled and posted about a few days ago. The fish/water themed dial. I wanted to make the fish scales larger and tidy them up a bit. This again, like all of my images and renders was fully designed, modeled, and rendered using Blender 4.0 (I have heard Blender 4.1 update is now out, so I must upgrade🤔). I have also made a few small sizing changes, and I also wanted to create a plaque to take the branding logo, so I thought, keeping to the fish theme I would model a ‘Vesica Piscis’ shape plaque…this also has the benefit of looking slightly like a fish swimming through the scales🐠.

The fish/water watch dial re-model:

The new version looks much tidier I think. The hardest part is instancing the scales in a tidy manner inside the circle, and having the edges tidy. In doing this I have come up with a very unique manual technique to enable this. It means constructing a grid of equilateral triangles that you can then instance your model object on the grid of triangles using geometry nodes – I will write and more in depth post on this technique soon. Until then I hope you like my re-model of this dial. Let me know what you think?

Oh, and to answer the daily WordPress prompt question of:

Daily writing prompt
What tattoo do you want and where would you put it?

I already have 3 tattoos that I had when I was a young lad, I have had them so long I forget they are there…so maybe I don’t want anymore, or maybe a fish🤔, after all… being an Argonaut I do love water! I don’t know😐. I just don’t think about it I guess, so maybe it is just not that important to me!

That is it for this post. Please let me know if you like the render images and my new, I think tidier, watch dial? If you want to know anything about how I model and design them, feel free to ask, I will divulge what I can😉.

have a great day everyone!

Kind regards, Jay

    1. Thank you Priti for your kind words🙏. Good for you, sadly I think they all hurt to some degree, but depends on your tolerance I guess. Have a great day Priti 😊, kind regards…Jay
