About Me

My name is Jason Garth Edwards. I am a designer and creator from Lincoln, Lincolnshire, in the United Kingdom. Welcome to my website!

For the first 15 years of my working life, I worked in the engineering industry, Crankshaft engineering to be specific – an interesting and diverse role where I worked in many aspects of making small to very large Crankshafts, for small compressors to huge Ship engines. Most of my time in this role was spent in the fine measurement arena – making sure everything was as it should be according to the Crankshaft specifications…thus I developed many diverse skills and a knack for precision.

Working in the engineering industry provided an immersive experience that allowed me to delve deeply into the complexities of engineering. It was an intricate and dynamic role, offering exposure to a wide spectrum of tasks involved in creating crankshafts of various sizes and for different types of machinery. This diverse exposure equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the nuances related to the production of tight-tolerance machinery, contributing to the development of a versatile skill set.

A significant portion of my time was dedicated to the meticulous realm of precision measurements, ensuring that every component adhered meticulously to the exacting standards outlined in the crankshaft specifications. This aspect of my work not only honed my attention to detail but also nurtured an innate ability to maintain precision in every task undertaken. The responsibility of upholding the quality and specifications of crankshafts fostered an environment where I developed a keen eye for even the minutest of details, further enhancing my adeptness in the field of precision engineering.

For nearly two decades and up to the present day, I have dedicated my time and expertise to the intricate art of watch design. From bespoke timepieces tailored for individual clients to comprehensive collections crafted for corporate entities, my role as a designer encompasses a diverse array of projects. Working within the realm of personalized watchmaking, I have catered to the discerning tastes of avid watch collectors as well as the specialized requirements of individuals – from horse race trainers to professional adventurers! Additionally, I’ve had the honor of collaborating with esteemed corporate entities, including Oxford University Ltd., Brough Superior Motorcycles, Berkeley Cars, The Race For Doggett’s Coat and Badge, and The Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch, among others. My creative journey has led me to contribute to the watch design sphere across various industries, from partnering with rail companies to lending my expertise to prestigious sport super-car manufacturers.

Driven by a deep passion for innovation and a love for diversity in design, I continually strive to push the boundaries of traditional watchmaking. My portfolio embodies a vast spectrum of styles, from the refined elegance of traditional designs to the cutting-edge, avant-garde concepts that challenge and captivate. This commitment to versatility allows me to infuse each creation with a distinctive character, ensuring that every watch reflects not only the precision of its function but also the unique artistry of its design.

I am always open to new and interesting projects and available, depending on workload, for freelance work. If you would like to know more. Please contact me via my ‘contact page’, or email jayargonaut@protonmail.com
